I heard from Mohammed today. I wasn't expecting to, I thought they would be entirely cut off, after relocating to the rubble in the west of Gaza with his wife and four kids. But they are miraculously still alive and still able to get some texts out. https://www.gofundme.com/f/protect-an-open-source-engineer-and-his-family From Gaza, he writes, at first about a friend of his who he recently lost: "For treatment after many referrals, in the end he had to pay 10 thousand dollars to leave. I thought he was lucky because he was able to leave before the Rafah crossing was closed, but a few days ago I received news of his death, as his wounds and blood poisoning became infected.
"This morning we received leaflets from the army asking us to leave our residential area and head to western Gaza. West Gaza is a devastated area and has no resources for
life
"The army did not give us enough time. They dropped leaflets at 9 a.m. and began bombing at 12.
"I packed my bags and prepared to leave, and I am now making calls to find a safe place in the western Gaza area.
"Literally, we are living in days that resemble the first days of the war, 7 months ago, very violent bombing in different parts, and people are confused, not knowing what to do."
The final messages today: "I am now in the center of Gaza City. Unfortunately, it is somewhat close to areas where clashes are taking place, but it is a safer place than where I live."
Please donate to help cover their living expenses as they continue to try to survive the genocide.
